Voici une liste des bibliothécaires universitaires de la bibliothèque de l'Université de Cambridge à l' Université de Cambridge .
Le bureau officiel de bibliothécaire de l'Université n'a été créé qu'en 1577, lorsque William James a été nommé bibliothécaire. Le premier ensemble de règlements «pour le bureau de tenue de la bibliothèque» fut alors formé en 1582. On sait peu de choses sur l'administration avant la fin du XVIe siècle. Avant 1577, l'aumônier de l'Université avait la responsabilité générale de la bibliothèque, entre autres tâches. 16 aumôniers-bibliothécaires potentiels ont été identifiés.
En 1721, le poste de bibliothécaire principal (Protobibliothecarius) fut créé pour Conyers Middleton "en signe de sympathie avec lui dans son opposition à Richard Bentley ". En 1828, ce poste fut fusionné avec celui de bibliothécaire (Bibliothecarius).
