Template to use for ice hockey boxscores

Hi there. I've been going through many of the college ice hockey tournament articles and have noticed in the edit history of some that you have been swapping {{NHLPlayoffs}} for {{IceHockeybox}} for the game boxscores. From this I am assuming that you prefer the {{IceHockeybox}} template. I want to initiate a discussion with you over which template is actually better for these articles. I believe that {{NHLPlayoffs}} is the template that should be used. As you know, conference tournaments feature series', so {{NHLPlayoffs}} makes more sense. However, the Frozen Four and regionals are all single-elimination and therefore {{IceHockeybox}} might be preferred. However, my problem with {{IceHockeybox}} is its international ice hockey approach, which the NCAA is not. It fails to identify which period the goal was scored in, along the lines of the 60-minute clock approach used by the IIHF for international tournaments (i.e.: IIHF boxscores feature goals as 00:01–20:00 for 1st period goals, 20:01–40:00 for 2nd, and 40:01–60:00 for 3rd). The NCAA uses the NHL and North American approach of using 00:01-20:00 for each of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods. This cannot be properly done using {{IceHockeybox}}, as it does not have period headers like {{NHLPlayoffs}} does. Hi Nurmsook, thanks for bringing this up. My main issue with {{NHLPlayoffs}} is that the goals are all mashed together; it's not easy to tell the "flow" of the game. Also, it leaves out some other information, like penalty minutes, attendance, and referees. I'm not familiar with most of the conference tournaments (since my team's still not in a conference), but I think the ones that do have series have best-of-3 game series at most. The extra space that {{IceHockeybox}} takes up compared to NHLPlayoffs doesn't matter as much compared to the NHL pages, which have 15 series of up to 7 games each. In addition, there are a few formatting issues (the OT indicator is closer to one of the teams than the score, the arena field is too narrow).

Been a while since we discussed this, my apologies for dropping the subject. With the NCAA tourney fast approaching, I've become re-engaged in this topic. From your sandbox, I really love the "Splitting periods with {{IceHockeybox}}" example. I think that is a GREAT hybrid of the two. I am wondering if we could create a new template so we don't have to do so many <br>'s, instead having fields for each periods goals and progression? Hey, no worries. I haven't been very active lately anyway. I'm good with moving forward with that option. I like the idea of a new template (it definitely takes some fiddling to get all the breaks to work right), but I don't have the time right now to dedicate to writing the code for it. Hey! I see you've already been busy getting some great shots around my former stomping grounds. You were braver than I with getting the Cochrane Bridge photo, I took mine from the water during an excursion upriver. I wanted to get one from the ground, but was too scared to do it on my own (and nobody was brave enough to go with me). Around that time a dead body had been found very close to where you took your photo and then another on the west side a few weeks later (probably dumped). Yours is a great shot, it really shows off the bridge and its curving design. I'm going to use your new one of the bridge on the Blakeley Island article that I started a week or so ago. There's several photos that I took around town that I'm sure you could get better shots of too. Hope everything is going well and that you're liking the place okay! AssMass - Alabama School of Math and Science

I am not "disruptive editing" or "vandalizing." I am from Mobile, my sister attends ASMS and I just spent two weeks in Mobile around current and former students and each of them without exception referred to the acronym ASMS as "AssMass." While I was in Baldwin County at a speaking engagement I came across a student from Foley High School pronounced ASMS the same way. Liking the new photos

Hey, just been admiring your new Baldwin and Mobile photos, I don't think I ever got any in Baldwin except a few at the coast and Point Clear. Big congrats on getting the federal court house in Mobile done, security came out of the building and wouldn't let me take a photo. I shouldn't have complied, since I was on the public sidewalk, but didn't feel like making a scene. I later took one from my car, but it sucked. Thanks! My plan is to get the rest of Baldwin, but I probably won't get to it before the contest ends. I also want to go to Pascagoula and maybe Ocean Springs. Do you know if you can see any of the historic parts of Searcy from the outside? It looks like one building (the administration building?) is at the end of a public road. I might swing by some day after work. I didn't have any trouble at the courthouse; I spent a fair bit of time standing on the other side of the street craning and staring, too. Doing well. I worked at Searcy for about nine months. You can see the administration building from the front drive, although there is a guard post before you get there. If you tell them that all you want is photo of that building, they'll probably let you get up close to it. There is no photography of any kind allowed inside the walls and fences, by state law or something like that. Patient privacy and all that. That's all that kept me from ever trying it. I would have loved to get one of the crenelated tower, it is abandoned now and very spooky looking. Most of the old buildings are no longer used. I didn't explicitly state it since I couldn't find any sources to confirm it though. The new NRHP progress map has inspired me to work on creating articles again. Historic fire stations of Birmingham, Alabama

Thanks for creating this article. I was, however, disappointed to see so many individual articles merged into just this one. Are the stations listed on the NRHP individually, or only as a collection? If individually, perhaps they should have their own articles for being notable, but also link to Historic fire stations of Birmingham, Alabama in the prose or see also section? --Another Believer _(Talk) 17:08, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Unless I am misunderstanding how the system works, at least some of these stations are listed individually. Would you oppose if I restored the articles that were merged, linking them from Historic fire stations of Birmingham, Alabama and adding see also links to the list from individual articles? The article you created is certainly needed given the group listing, but I don't see why the individual NRHP sites cannot retain their own status and entry. --Another Believer _(Talk) 17:13, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

I have to disagree with you on this. As far as I'm aware, there's no rule or consensus that every site needs a separate article, and in this case, I think having them together makes the discussion of the topic stronger. Breaking it up would either have 10 articles with only an architectural description and no history, or the same history section repeated 10 times across the articles. Basically, because they were nominated together, they share a lot of common history, and there's not much available (that I could find) on any of the stations' individual histories. Also (and I may be misunderstanding what you're proposing to do), I have to strongly oppose restoring them as they were; all but No. 6 were one-sentence stubs that gave no context whatsoever, and were little more than and infobox and a navbox (and a cleanup template). I'm not at all trying to say that they aren't individually notable, or that all MPSs should be handled this way, just that in this case it makes more sense to discuss their significance together. 3 years later

I think you did a great job with Historic fire stations of Birmingham, Alabama back in 2014, and that you were correct back then to redirect separate stub articles about 9 fire stations to that list-article. Another editor reverted those redirects back then, and I am now trying to restore the redirects. It happens the 9 articles are the only 9 in Alabama which are problem "NRIS-only" articles. I brought this up at User talk:Another Believer#batch of minimal NRHP articles and seem to have their agreement. Anyhow, thanks for your contribution back then, and I would welcome your help merging anything from the separate articles now or otherwise developing any more. cheers, --doncram 17:50, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Saying we're "in agreement" is not quite right, actually. I'd prefer the list have very minimal descriptions with links to the separate articles, which should include details about each station since they're independently notable. Just wanted to clarify. As Spyder Monkey commented in 2014, there is not material available to develop separate articles, and in this case of a multiple property submission it seems best to have just one article. Locations for ARLH listings in Shelby County

I know on the official ARLH state release, the largest city or town closest to the location is usually listed for where the site is located. Is it ok if I am more specific on some of the sites listed on Properties_on_the_Alabama_Register_of_Landmarks_and_Heritage_by_county_(Pickens–Winston)#Shelby_County? For example, Arkwright Baptist Church and the Arkwright Heritage Area are located in Arkwright, Alabama, the Montevallo Coal Mine Company Store is located in Aldrich, Alabama, and the Jackson's Fourmile Farm is located in Fourmile, Alabama. If I'm not able to specifically list them in that area, is there a way to show on the list that they're in that small community, even if they're in the city limits of the listed city? Alabama Courthouses Comment

Hey, I have a very good friend that runs the "Welcome to Rural Southwest Alabama website who will most likely be willing to give me some of the Modern Greene County Courthouse. Sorry to have lost touch, He and I are now running complimentary pages, his is the aforementioned and mine is called "Historic Photographs of Southwest Alabama." It's much easier to get my hands on them if it doesn't mean, like it does here that they have to be released on a PD license or a near equivalent. Davis Cup Sources

Hi there. I noticed you'd created a lot of the old Davis Cup (pre-World Group era) pages (which are amazing by the way), and was interested as to where you found the information from to do so, because there doesn't seem to be a collective source - though that could be me being very unobservant. Was it just brute-force ploughing through the Davis Cup website head-to-heads until you worked out what must have happened each year, using a load of various sources, or is there an archaic book or website with a full compilation hidden away somewhere that I couldn't see on a quick Google? Thank you for your recent additions of photos to e. g. 1903 Clemson Tigers football team. I try to research football in the south pre-1933. A pretty nice quality photo for 1903, and many greats. @Spyder Monkey: Was wondering how you might have found Jim Stoney, but I see there was some connection to Clemson. Sitton above is a fascinating character. I will note that I started the Stonewall Brigade Band article. Marshall Moore Brice, who wrote the book on the band, was Clemson College class of 1917. Actually, I found out about Stoney when he popped up on User:AlexNewArtBot/SouthCarolinaSearchResult. When I read through it, the name of the church rang a bell (though, with as many generically-named churches in Alabama as I've photographed through the years, I don't know how). SC In-state Football Records

Hello, there! I noticed you deleted a table from the Clemson football article that detailed the Tigers' record against each in-state Division I school. I did the same at the South Carolina football article, as I cannot see how such indiscriminate listing of statistics is notable to such an article. As I pointed out in my edit summary, why stop at a table like this one? If that information is truly notable to the topic of the article, why not also have tables that list records against all non-conference Division I opponents, FCS schools, etc.? Where will the listing of statistics end? The only list of this type that really seems of note are the records of the two schools against other teams from their current conferences. There are Wikipedia policies concerning the overuse of statistics in articles that I feel applies here (WP:INDISCRIMINATE, WP:NOTSTATSBOOK), so we will have to see how persistent this editor is about ignoring them. @MisterCake: I found a Striker Coles, class of 1909. [1] 3-time letterman in football and baseball, captain of both his senior year. In some quick googling, I found this, suggesting he's the younger brother of MLBer Cad Coles. Bell Building (Montgomery, Alabama)

Hi, how's it going? I'm working on something, User:Drmies/Beauvoir Club, and ran into the Bell Building article. Well, I also ran into the Bell Building, and a nice tenant let me in, so I got to go all the way to the 12th floor. There is no sign there of the previous club activities or layout; it's all just apartments like the floors below. Unfortunately I didn't find anyone with a key to let me up to the roof, but holy moly that must be a really cool view. Even from the 12th-floor window it's awesome. That penthouse is also still there, though I can't tell if anyone is living in it. It's pretty fancy! [4] Anyway, if you have anything you can add to the Beauvoir draft, that would be great--though I think I may have to published it under Montgomery Country Club. I got to it via Clifford Lanier, BTW, whom I'm writing on as well. Anything about him is also welcome. Thanks, and take care.
